This part I messed with for a while, trying various combinations of Zard bolts, washers, spacers, etc., and at one point even consulted a neighborhood
kid passing by the garage. In the end, keep it simple stupid won out. I used the existing screw with plastic washer and the existing rubber frame mount with threaded insert (embedded nut?) and
just put the Zard bracket under the plastic side panel to keep it looking good. I did notice that it helped to push down a bit on the top of the rubber covered nut (sorry for lack of terminology here) in order to get the screw back in, once the bracket was added, but there was plenty of room left. Again, note the alignment relative to the welded mount on the right side to gauge your progress, but keep in mind that the triangle (black) Zard mounting parts to come, have a bit of play in them, and you can adjust further to line things up. The Zard mounting bracket seemed to line up best that way on my frame, so on with the next part. |
